Did you know that you can purchase produce at some Farmers’ Markets using FoodShare?
Several Farmers’ Markets across Wisconsin are equipped with the technology to accept QUEST cards as payment, making it easier to purchase fresh and local food to prepare healthy meals. Some Farmer’ Markets even offer incentives to FoodShare recipients, such as matching the amount you spend on produce with coupons for the market.
How to Purchase
To find out if and how you can purchase from market vendors using Foodshare, try asking at your local market’s information booth. Some vendors have machines that can process Quest cards as payments. Many farmers’ markets also have a central booth where you can receive a scrip or token for the amount of FoodShare dollars you would like to spend by swiping your card. The scrip or token can be used as payment for your purchases from individual vendors. If you have scrips or tokens left over, you can return to the booth to have the remaining balance refunded back onto your QUEST card.
